Furbabies

I totally adore cats, especially Siamese. My first Siamese was a beautiful wee seal point called Solomon, he was very special, and is so very sadly missed. RIP Sols. I don't think a home is a home without a cat. There's something comforting about coming home from work, and being greeted and fussed over by a cat.

Currently I have three, a seal point, a red point and a tabby as well as a mad sheepdog cross, called Amber.

Trading Cards

I collect trading cards, and would love to meet other trading card collectors (I don't know of any other collectors where I am and would love a chance to compare notes...hubby doesn't understand my card passion, therefore I bore him rigid!) I have been collecting for just over a year and a half and my collection (so far) comprises of SG1 and SG Atlantis and most recently, Harry Potter. I collect mostly auto/costume cards and chase sets that take my eye, as well as my newest love; film cell cards.

For those that don't know anything about trading cards, here's a little run down on what certain cards are.

Costume cards contain a small piece of fabric that was either taken from an item of clothing that was worn in the show/film, or that was used to create a particular costume piece.

Autograph cards are hand signed by the actors/actresses.

Film cell cards contain an 35mm cell of film (usually these cells are taken from actual movie theatrical releases aired in cinemas, etc).

About me...

A little about me. I have been married for eleven years and have a ten year old daughter. We live in a lovely rural part of Wales and share our lives with one dog and three cats-two Siamese and a tabby thing. All are completely bonkers and have total control over the household. Hubby and I are both in full time work, working together in the hotel trade. We have been recently 'adopted' by our neighbours cat whom has had kittens in our shed. So the possibility of a new kittie addition to the household is quite strong!

I love most sci/fi, fantasy and horror movies/books and computer games, my passions being Stephen King and anything related to Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis.

Be warned-I am a massive Harry Potter fan. My favourite characters being Severus Snape, Remus Lupin, Lucius Malfoy, George and Fred Weasley...and of course, Dobby the house-elf.

I can't wait for the Half-Blood Prince to premiere in the UK!

10 random things you didn't know about me (or wish to know).

#1. I have a dry, sometimes sarcastic sense of humour. I know sarcasm is the lowest form of whit...

#2. I am 5ft 1" and have my nose pierced.

#3. I once met Ozzy Osbourne, and to my utter shame told him he was cute. You do not call the self-proclaimed 'Prince of Darkness' cute. Especially in front of his wife. Oh the shame still lingers.

#4. I am a geek, and quite proud of the fact.

#5. I am a coelic (have an allergy to all forms of gluten)

#6. I am a writer, and have one short story (about Were-wolves) published in an anthology. I also write fanfiction, main being based on the Star Wars 'Knights of the Old Republic' video games).

#7. I love Egyptian art and pictograms.

#8. I collect stripey socks. Of all colours. They are a mad passion of mine, and I can't resist buying a pair (or two) whenever I see them in a shop. Also socks with cows on them...

#9. Totally, totally adore Paul McGillion and Alan Rickman (and their respective characters of Carson Beckett and Severus Snape).

#10. I don't make friends easy, but when I do, I consider myself a friend for life.
